EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) is a systematic, evidence-based approach to heal from traumatic life experiences.
It targets the disturbing images, thoughts, feelings and physical sensations of traumatic events, and works to help the individual process these events while decreasing the negative impact of trauma in their life. In doing so, the individual can heal from the traumatic events, and learn how to integrate the trauma into their lives, so they are no longer negatively impacted by such events.

In my work with clients, I primarily utilize EMDR for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR can help clients experiencing PTSD by decreasing or eliminating the debilitating symptoms of PTSD, such as intrusive memories, flashbacks, anxiety and nightmares.
